Koei Tecmo revealed an exhilarating story trailer for the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 4, developed in partnership with Platinum Games and Team Ninja, during the gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live event.

The official synopsis paints a gripping tale:
A deadly miasma shrouds a dystopian Tokyo after an age-old foe rises once more. The city’s fate rests with young ninja Yakumo, who battles cybernetic assassins and supernatural horrors. As he uncovers his connection to the legendary Ryu Hayabusa, Yakumo must lift an ancient curse dooming Tokyo to ruin.

Koei Tecmo initially teased Ninja Gaiden 4 earlier this year as a joint project between Team Ninja and Platinum Games. Alongside this announcement, they confirmed Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a remaster of the classic 2008 title Ninja Gaiden II.
Recently, fans enjoyed Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, released for PlayStation 4 and PS5 on July 31.
