Cat’s Eye Anime Unleashes Premiere Date – September Debut Announced

The eagerly awaited trailer for the new adaptation of Tsukasa Hojo’s celebrated manga, Cat’s Eye, was revealed by Disney+. This new anime will debut exclusively on the Star section of Disney+ Japan. The fall premieres for the first six episodes of Cat’s Eye are scheduled to roll out weekly from September 26 to October 31. The remaining six episodes are set to air weekly from December 26, 2025, to January 30, 2026.

Adapting the timeless classic, the manga series of Cat’s Eye boasts three sisters by day running a cozy café, while by night they dive into the thrilling world of art theft. Published from 1981 to 1985, the manga inspired two television anime seasons in the past.
With the notable contribution of the singing sensation, adjective a cover of Anri’s “Cat’s Eye,” the opening theme for the 1983 anime and will also perform the ending theme song “Magic.”

For the animation, a star-studded team is at the helm. Yoshifumi Sueda, noted for his work on High School DxD Hero and Z/X Code reunion, is directing the series under the banner of LIDEN FILMS. The scriptwriter is Hayashi Mori, known for Sand Land: The Series and Cells at Work! Code Black. Character designs and animation direction are handled by Yosuke Yabumoto, with a resume including The Legendary Hero is Dead! and Duel Masters VS. The score is composed by the talented Yuki Hayashi, recognized for his work on Haikyu!! and My Hero Academia.

Readers in the United States will be excited to know that the English translations of Cat’s Eye are set to release in omnibus editions. The series will be available in print starting September 9 through Kana imprint of Abrams ComicArts.

Adopted internationally, Cat’s Eye has captivated diverse audiences beyond Japan. In 2023, an exciting crossover anime, Lupin III vs. Cat’s Eye, celebrated the 50th anniversary of Lupin III and 40th anniversary of Cat’s Eye. This cel-shaded CG production premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Recently, a live-action French series developed by TF1 and TF1+ aired on Amazon Prime Video globally, featuring eight 52-minute episodes set in modern-day Paris, with a second season already confirmed.
