Anime Series Kashiwada and Oota Unveils Additional Voice Cast

The upcoming anime adaptation of Fuyu Azuma’s manga, “Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota,” has revealed two additional cast members. The announcement was made on Friday, adding to the excitement surrounding the series.

Shiori Mikami will voice Oota’s older sister, bringing depth to the character dynamics. Daisuke Kishio will portray Kashiwada’s older brother, further enriching the narrative.

The anime will debut on various platforms, starting with Tokyo MX on October 4. It will air on Kansai TV on October 5, BS11 on October 6, and AT-X on October 7. The series had its world premiere of the first episode at Anime Expo on July 3.

Crunchyroll will stream the series starting on October 4, making it accessible to a global audience.

The anime features a talented cast and crew:

Tomohiro Kamitani is directing the series at STUDIO POLON. Michiko Yokote is overseeing the series scripts, ensuring a compelling storyline. Naoto Nakamura is the character designer and chief animation director, bringing the characters to life with his distinctive style. Yukari Hashimoto and Tetsuya Shitara are composing the music, adding an emotional layer to the visuals.

Hashimero will perform the opening theme song “Hyakumensō” (Funny Faces), while Sangatsu no Phantasia will handle the ending theme song “Amanojaku Hero” (Contradiction-Filled Hero).

The manga is being published in English by BookWalker Global and MangaPlaza. The story revolves around Kashiwada, a girl who never shows emotions on her face, and Oota, who always tries to surprise her but never succeeds. Despite their differences, they care deeply for each other, creating a heartwarming love comedy set in an ordinary junior high school in Japan.

Azuma launched the manga on Kadokawa’s Dra Dra Sharp# site in July 2018. The 10th and final compiled book volume was published in July 2023. Kadokawa also published the first volume of the “Kao ni Denai Kashiwada-san to Kao ni Deru Ōta-kun+” manga on April 9.

Seven Arcs previously animated an ad for the manga in 2022, generating buzz for the upcoming series.
