The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Makoto Kudo’s popular manga, “My Awkward Senpai,” has unveiled its second main visual and a promotional video. The video offers a sneak peek at the ending theme song, “Bukiyล ni Kimi no Tonari” (Awkwardly Next to You), performed by the talented Ami Maeshima.
The anime is set to premiere on October 2 on the Tokyo MX channel at 10:00 p.m. JST (9:00 a.m. EDT) and on BS NTV at 11:00 p.m. JST. Additionally, it will be available for streaming on U-NEXT and Anime Hลdai services in Japan starting October 2 at 10:30 p.m. JST. The anime will also air on the AT-X channel on October 3 and begin streaming on other services on October 6.
The anime features a stellar cast and crew. Ayumu Kotake, known for “Acro Trip,” is directing the series at Studio Elle. Mio Inoue, who has worked on “Slow Start” and “Wonderful Precure!,” is in charge of the series scripts. Kenrล Tokuda, the chief animation director for “Acro Trip,” is designing the characters, and Kลji Fujimoto is composing the music.
Angela will perform the opening theme song, “Bukiyล na I love you” (The Awkward I love you).
The manga, originally posted on Kudo’s X/Twitter account in March 2019, began serializing in Square Enix’s “Young Gangan” magazine in December 2019. The ninth compiled book volume was published on March 25, and the 10th volume was released on September 25. The story revolves around Kannawa-senpai, who is anything but smooth, and her interactions with her new Kouhai, Kamegawa. The manga is available in English digitally through Comikey and Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global service.
