Jun Fukuyama Joins the Cast of “A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace” Anime
The official X account for the television anime adaptation of Kuzushiro’s manga “A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace” revealed exciting news on Monday. Jun Fukuyama will be voicing Masayuki Todo, the former editor of the protagonist Futami.
The anime made its debut on Friday, airing on multiple channels. It was broadcast on AT-X at 9:30 p.m. JST, Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. JST, and BS Asahi at 11:24 p.m. JST. Additionally, the anime will be shown on Iwate Menkoi TV on October 12. Streaming services in Japan, including DMM TV, Lemino, U-NEXT, Anime Times, and Anime Hลdai, began streaming the series on Friday at 10:30 p.m. JST.
The cast and crew behind this unique anime adaptation include:
- Kaoru Suzuki, known for his work on “DIVE!!” and “My Roommate is a Cat,” is directing the anime at Voil.
- Mio Inoue, who has worked on “My Awkward Senpai” and “Slow Start,” is handling the series scripts.
- Kana Miyai, recognized for her character designs in “Beyblade Burst QuadStrike” and “Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia,” is designing the characters.
- Ryล Tanaka, with credits including “Solo Leveling,” “Thermae Romae Novae,” and “Acro Trip,” is the sound director.
- Kei Haneoka, known for his work on “Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life” and “Kaguya-sama: Love is War,” and Hironori Doi, who has worked on the music staff for “Umineko – When They Cry,” are composing the music.
- Pony Canyon is responsible for music production.
- HoneyWorks and HaKoniwalily will perform the opening theme song “Zettai Shลsan” (Absolute Praise).
- Sizuk will perform the ending theme song “Thankful.”
The manga, titled “A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace,” follows Nana Futami, a rookie shลjo manga artist. Despite facing intense delusions, which she attributes to an occupational illness, Nana continues her work with the support of her editor Kaede Satล and her assistant Mizuki Hazama.
Kuzushiro, the creator of the manga, first launched it as a one-shot in Kodansha’s Kiss magazine in February 2019. The serialization began in Kodansha’s Comic Days app and website in May 2019. The 13th compiled book volume of the manga is set to be published on September 19.
