Fire Force Season Finale Airs January 9th

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Atsushi Ohkubo’s “Fire Force” manga has revealed exciting news for fans. The official website for the anime has announced the premiere date for the second and final cours of the third and final season. Mark your calendars, as the new episodes will hit the screens on January 9, 2026.

The anime will continue to air on the Animeism block, broadcasted on MBS, TBS, and CBC. For those who prefer streaming, the latest episodes will be available on Netflix shortly after their television debut.

The first part of the final season made its debut on April 4, 2025, on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS. Netflix has been exclusively streaming the anime in Japan, with each episode becoming available after the TV broadcast.

Crunchyroll is handling the streaming duties for North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. Additionally, Crunchyroll is providing an English dub for the series, ensuring that fans worldwide can enjoy the action and drama of “Fire Force.”

The production team behind the anime has seen some notable changes. Sei Tsuguta, known for his work on “Undead Unluck,” “BUILD-DIVIDE -#000000- CODE BLACK,” and “Sk8 the Infinity Extra Part,” is now supervising and writing the scripts. Mika Yamamoto has taken on the role of sub-character designer. Yoshihiro Yoshioka and Mariko Kubo have joined Yumenosuke Tokuda as chief animation directors. Yumi Horikoshi is the new art director, and Koji Kodera is the new CG director. Ryohashi is now credited as the VFX supervisor, while Natsuki Takei has been promoted to compositing director of photography.

The “Fire Force” manga, created by Atsushi Ohkubo, launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in September 2015. The series concluded in February 2022, with the 34th and final compiled book volume released in May 2022. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English, offering readers a thrilling tale set in a clockwork metropolis plagued by spontaneous human combustion. The story follows the Fire Force, a special firefighting team tasked with combating this mysterious phenomenon.

The manga’s success led to a television anime series that premiered in July 2019. The first season consisted of 24 episodes, followed by a second chapter that aired in July 2020, also with 24 episodes. Funimation streamed the series on its FunimationNow service, providing both the original Japanese audio and an English dub. Crunchyroll also simulcasted the series, and it premiered on Toonami in July 2019, with the second season debuting in October 2020.

The excitement surrounding “Fire Force” continues to grow as fans eagerly await the final cours of the third season. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to dive back into the action-packed world of the Fire Force.
