The Animate Girls Festival 2025 unveiled the main promotional video for the upcoming anime adaptation of the popular light novel series, “The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter,” written by Yatsuki Wakatsu and illustrated by Kikka Ohashi. The series, known as “Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai,” is a boys-love story that has garnered significant attention.
The promotional video not only showcased the anime’s visual style but also revealed the theme song artists. The opening theme, “Magic,” will be performed by kobore, while the ending theme, “Back to Back,” will be sung by Win Morisaki. Fans can look forward to these tracks as they accompany the series’ episodes.
The anime is set to debut in January 2026, with an advanced screening event scheduled for December 11 in Tokyo. This event will feature the first three episodes, giving eager fans a sneak peek into the series.
Crunchyroll will stream the series globally, covering regions such as North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and the Indian Subcontinent. The series will be titled “Isekai Office Worker: The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter.”
The anime will be directed by Shinji Ishihara at Studio DEEN, with Yoshiko Nakamura handling the series composition. This duo has previously collaborated on several boys-love anime, including “Sasaki and Miyano,” “Super Lovers,” and “Tadaima, Okaeri.” Akira Yamada will serve as the assistant director, while Maki Fujii, who also worked on “Sasaki and Miyano,” will be the character designer. Megumi Ohashi will compose the music, with Nippon Columbia producing it.
Yen Press is releasing both the light novel series and the manga adaptation in English. The story follows Seiichiro, a hardworking individual who finds himself in a fantasy world due to a strange Saint-Summoning Ritual. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets the Aresh, the Captain of the Knights, leading him to question his priorities and desires.
The light novel series was launched in February 2019, with the third volume released in September 2021. The manga adaptation began on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website in March 2020 and has since published its seventh volume. Together, the manga and novels have achieved a combined circulation of 1.4 million copies.
