This week’s 20th edition of Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine, released on Wednesday, featured the final chapter of the initial portion of Tsuyoshi Yasuda‘s The Blue Wolves of Mibu (Ao no Miburo) manga. Additionally, it announced that the upcoming “Shinsengumi Arc” will commence in the next issue of the magazine on April 24.
Yasuda began publishing the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in October 2021. Kodansha released the 13th collected volume on Wednesday.

Kodansha USA Publishing holds the English license for the manga. The company published the first volume on February 27, and the second volume will be available on May 28. Kodansha USA provides a synopsis of the story:

Nio, an orphan with dreams of a better world, encounters two men who demonstrate the power a few swords can wield in shaping history.
This thrilling samurai series from the acclaimed creator of DAYS shares its setting with Rurouni Kenshin and depicts the formation of the Shinsengumi by handsome and fiery men battling for justice and themselves!

The manga’s anime adaptation for television is scheduled to premiere in the fall.

Yasuda’s DAYS soccer manga also inspired a television anime in 2016, as well as five original video anime episodes between 2017 and 2018. Yasuda’s Over Drive cycling manga led to a TV anime in 2007.
