One of the most exciting aspects of this anime is the stellar cast voicing its characters. Yumi Uchiyama will bring the protagonist, Van, to life. Van is a charming individual who, in his past life, was a Japanese salaryman, but he is reincarnated into an aristocratic family as a child prodigy. The talented M.A.O will voice the steely-eyed Till, Van’s personal maid and trusted advisor. Finally, Mariya Ise will portray Khamsin, a loyal servant who owes his life to Van.
The anime appears to be poised for success, given the captivating narrative and the talented people contributing to its production.
The visuals are not the only thing delighting fans; the story is equally intriguing. Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord: Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City follows Van, the fourth son of an influential noble, as he navigates life in a powerful family. This young prodigy, with his mature intellect and “Production Magic” skills, is relegated to a tiny village as punishment from his family for his lack of aggression in the face of battle. With nothing but his personal maid and the memories of his past life, Van sets out to transform the insignificant village into a fortified city. Between Van’s cunning and Till’s steely support, they stand to turn an entire area into a bastion of defense—and turn the fortunes of a young aristocrat on his ears. The choice of the phrase “Easygoing” fits the narrative of the story:
Van, a seemingly lackadaisical boy with a startling amount of potential, struggles with fitting into the mold of being a dutiful son and noble. His laid-back personality and and pointed struggles against a monotonous life paired with his immense level of self-control. Van takes this simple phrase, “Take it easy” or “Easygoing” and applies it to the vast majority of his actions, whether they involve his unconventional magic production studies, mundane village life, or intense political games. **Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City**: Ridiculing the normalcy of an adventure that took a whirtschaft citizen and allowed her to ascend ranks by fate. This young man turns the tables. An anti-hero, indeed.
It took years for the story to reach the anime adaption. It was first revealed in web format on the Shosetuka ni Naru website, and later expanded into a full novel series with illustrations by Kururi. The eighth volume was released in August.
The adapted series tells the tale of Van, the fourth son of a powerful noble, who recalls his past life as a salaryman in Japan at the tender age of two, all through his mature intelligence, mastering an elderlike command of language and advanced thinking. With the memories of his past life, a loyal maid, and his “worthless” magic, he jumps into an intriguing series of events that has viewers eager to see where his journey will eventually lead him.
