Exciting News: Season 2 of “Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You” Announced
Fans of the heartwarming manga and anime series “Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You” have reason to celebrate. The official website for the television anime adaptation of Haruka Mitsui’s beloved manga has unveiled a thrilling teaser video. This clip, released on Thursday, offers a sneak peek into the upcoming second season, set to debut in January 2026.
The teaser not only hints at the new season’s release date but also introduces additional cast members and confirms the return of familiar faces. The new season will continue to air on TBS and BS11, ensuring that viewers can enjoy the latest developments in the story.
Mayuko Kazama joins the cast as Kuroda, a character who holds a special place in Shin’s past. Kuroda was a classmate of Shin’s during his university days and has harbored feelings for him ever since.
First season director Junichi Yamamoto will be back to helm the second season at Typhoon Graphics. Y Murai will also return to oversee the series scripts, ensuring continuity and quality in the storytelling.
The first season of “Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You” premiered on TBS on January 9. The series was streamed globally by Crunchyroll, reaching audiences in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. Additionally, Crunchyroll is streaming an English dub of the series.
Junichi Yamamoto, known for his work on “More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers” and “Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen,” directed the first season. Typhoon Graphics produced the anime, with Y Murai and Nagisa Nario supervising and writing the series scripts. Io Shiiba designed the characters, while Katsuzō Hirata and Suzuna Okuyama served as sub-character designers. Keiji Inai composed the music.
Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English. The story revolves around Mizuha, who faces a disappointing 17th birthday. Her parents forget her special day, and the senpai she likes doesn’t reciprocate her feelings. However, when her childhood friend asks her out, Mizuha must navigate her changing emotions amidst a global pandemic.
Haruka Mitsui began serializing the manga in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine in October 2020. The manga’s 12th compiled book volume was published in Japan on August 12, with over 1.25 million copies in circulation, including digital copies. Kodansha USA Publishing will release the ninth volume in English on December 30.
The manga also received a stage play adaptation, which was performed in Tokyo and Osaka in February.
