Exciting News: “Mechanical Marie” Anime Debuts October 5 with New Cast and Visuals
Fans of thrilling anime can mark their calendars as the television adaptation of “Mechanical Marie” takes center stage. This highly anticipated series, based on Aki Akimoto’s hit manga “Kikaijikake no Marie,” revealed its planned premiere on October 5, along with an enticing second promotional video and more cast members.
The anime will first air on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. on October 5. It will subsequently be broadcast on YTV on October 6 and BS-Fuji on October 7. Grade all-streaming services such as d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai will start hosting the series on October 5 at 11:00 p.m.
Fans around the world can also enjoy the series, as Crunchyroll will stream it globally, excluding select regions in Asia, but including India and the Indian Subcontinent from the premiere date.
Mechanical Marie raises the stakes with its unique storyline, featuring a martial arts prodigy, Marie. Now disguising herself as a mechanical maid, she is tasked with protecting Arthur, a powerful heir with a disdain for humanity. Adapting her robot-like, expressionless facade, Marie deftly handles her domestic obligations while clandestinely shielding Arthur from continuous assassination attempts. However, the tension soars when Arthur’s growing affection for Marie threatens to unmask her secret. Each day becomes a thrilling mix of high-stake moments and emotional roller coasters, making “Mechanical Marie” a heartrending romantic comedy fraught with suspense and heartwarming moments.

The talented team behind the anime includes:
- Junji Nishimura of Zero-G and Liber helms the directorial duties.
- Mariko Kunisawa handles the series script, bringing a wealth of experience from previous works like Berserk of Gluttony and Tohai: Ura Rate Mahjong Tohai Roku.
- Yōko Kikuchi, renowned for her work on The Demon Prince of Momochi House and Carole & Tuesday, is responsible for the character designs.
- Yasuharu Takanashi and Johannes Nilsson, both celebrated composers, are producing the music for the series.
Harutya will enchant fans with the opening theme, “Honto to Uso” (Truth and Lies), while Nao Tōyama will mesmerize as Marie for the ending theme, “Cross Heart ~Itsuwari no Nai Kimochi” (Feelings With No Lies).
First introduced as a one-shot in Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine in March 2020, the manga series quickly gained popularity and began serial publication in June the same year. It concluded its run in June 2023, culminating in six volumes. Yen Press licensed the series and released the first English volume on August 26, 2025. Moreover, Aki Akimoto isn’t stopping there. She launched a sequel titled “Mechanical Marie+,” continuing Marie’s story in LaLa.
