The universe of Magical Girl Raising Project Restart revolves around a social game named The Magical Girl Raising Project, where only a few out of tens of thousands of participants become “magical girls” endowed with extraordinary abilities and looks. When administration announces a reduction in the number of magical girls to manage overconsumption of magical energy, a deadly battle for survival unfolds, transforming allies into unexpected foes.

Endō’s original light novel series launched with Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! Bunko imprint in June 2012, and the 18th volume was released in November 2023. Additionally, Yen Press has been publishing the novels in English since June 2017.
