Exciting News: Popular Romantic Comedy Anime to Get a Sequel

Fans of the beloved yuri romantic comedy series are in for a treat. REMOW has officially announced that the television anime adaptation of Teren Mikami’s “There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless…” is set to receive a sequel. This highly anticipated follow-up will initially hit Japanese theaters in a limited release before making its way to TV screens.

The sequel, titled “There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… ~Next Shine~,” promises to continue the heartwarming and humorous journey of Renako Amaori and her friends. The trailer and visuals released by REMOW reveal that the sequel will consist of five episodes and is slated for a November 21 release.

The sequel will delve deeper into Renako’s journey of self-discovery and love. The anime will premiere on July 7 on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11 channels at 25:00 JST (effectively, on July 8 at 1:00 a.m.). Global streaming will follow shortly after the Japanese broadcast, ensuring that fans worldwide can enjoy the new episodes.

The anime features a talented cast and crew, including Natsumi Uchinuma as the director, Naruhisa Arakawa as the script supervisor, and kojikoji as the character designer. The music is composed by Yoshiaki Fujisawa, with Akari Nanawo performing the opening theme song “Muri Muri Evolution” and Philosophy no Dance performing the ending theme song “Mayocchauwa.”

Seven Seas is releasing the novels and their manga adaptation in English, offering fans a chance to dive deeper into the story. The novels and manga adaptation provide a rich backdrop to the anime, allowing readers to explore the characters and their relationships in greater detail.

The original light novel volume was published under Shueisha’s Dash X Bunko label in February 2020, with illustrations by Eku Takushima. The manga adaptation, launched by Musshu, has been serialized on the Nico Nico Seiga website since May 2020.
