Toru Takahashi, known for his work on Orphen: The Revenge and Inari Kon Kon, will be at the helm as the director for this new installment, working with Studio M2. Tatsuhiko Urahata, who penned the first GATE anime, is back as the writer, ensuring continuity in the narrative. Character design will be handled by Shigeru Fujita, renowned for his work on Monster and Pluto. The production is a collaborative effort between Kasagi Labo, Oshi, and GENCO.

It also boasts global accessibility, making it easier for anime enthusiasts worldwide to connect with their favorite shows.

The light novel series that serves as the foundation for GATE 2: Tides of Conflict is a direct sequel to Yanai’s original work. The sequel novels, titled GATE SEASON2 Jieitai Kano Umi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri, span five volumes published between 2017 and 2020. Additionally, a bunkoban version with five volumes was released between 2020 and 2022, featuring illustrations by Kurojishi, who also illustrated the first series of novels.
