Exciting News: Chainsaw Man Compilation Films Coming Soon to Crunchyroll
Fans of the popular anime Chainsaw Man have a lot to look forward to this September. Crunchyroll has announced that a two-part compilation film, titled Chainsaw Man – The Compilation: Part 1 & 2, will be available for streaming worldwide, excluding Asia.
These compilation films will offer a recap of key moments from the television series and will also feature Chainsaw Days, a newly animated adaptation of the original manga’s bonus chapters.
The anime staff announced that the compilation film will exclusively stream on the ABEMA streaming service in Japan on September 5 at 9:00 p.m. JST. Additionally, the upcoming feature film Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will simultaneously screen in 61 IMAX theaters in Japan. Crunchyroll has described the compilation films, setting the stage for what viewers can expect:
Denji is a young boy who works as a Devil Hunter with the “Chainsaw Devil” Pochita. One day, as he was living his miserable life trying to pay off the debt he inherited from his parents, he got betrayed and killed. As he was losing his consciousness, he made a deal with Pochita and got resurrected as the “Chainsaw Man”: the owner of the Devil’s heart.

A release date announced previously for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is September 19 in Japan, featuring the talents of Reina Ueda as Reze.
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has acquired worldwide theatrical rights for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. The film will open in theaters in the United States and the United Kingdom on October 29 and will also screen in more than 80 countries on September 24.
Among the notable contributions to the film are the musical themes. Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada will be performing the ending theme song “JANE DOE.” Additionally, Yonezu will perform the film’s theme song “IRIS OUT.”
The Chainsaw Man television anime series premiered on TV Tokyo and five other affiliated channels, as well as on Amazon Prime Video, in October 2022. Crunchyroll has been streaming the series in over 200 countries and territories worldwide since its debut.
Author Tatsuki Fujimoto, known for Fire Punch, debuted the Chainsaw Man manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018. The manga’s “first part,” the “Kôan” (Public Safety) arc, concluded in December 2020. The “second part,” titled “Gakkô-hen” (School Arc), began on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service in July 2022. The manga has been recognized with the Best Manga award at The Harvey Awards for three consecutive years.
The manga has also inspired a stage play adaptation, which ran in Tokyo and Kyoto from September to October 2023.
