In a thrilling announcement, YTV revealed plans for a special one-hour episode titled “Meitantei Conan Episode ‘ZERO’ Kudล Shinichi Suizokukan Jihen” (Detective Conan Episode ‘ZERO’ Shinichi Kudล Aquarium Incident). This special episode is set to air in January 2026, marking a significant event in the series’ 30-year history.
The special will delve into the early days of the story, before high school student Shinichi Kudล transforms into Conan Edogawa. The episode follows Shinichi and Ran Mลri as they visit an aquarium to devise a plan to reunite Kogoro Mลri and Eri Kisaki, who have separated. Their visit takes a dramatic turn when a murder occurs, prompting Shinichi to use his detective skills to unravel the mystery and identify the culprit.
Detective Conan first premiered on January 8, 1996, and has since aired over 1,100 episodes, making it one of the longest-running anime series. The show’s enduring popularity is a testament to its engaging storytelling and beloved characters.
In celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary, TMS Entertainment has curated a selection of episodes from Detective Conan, also known as Case Closed, for streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix. This collection, titled “Conan vs. The Black Organization,” features episodes that highlight the series’ iconic antagonists, including some that have never been available in the U.S. before. The episodes are available in both Japanese and with a new English dub, marking the first time the new dub has been featured on Crunchyroll.
