A New Face Joins the Cast of “My Awkward Senpai”

In an exciting turn of events, the production team behind the television anime adaptation of Makoto Kudo’s beloved manga, “My Awkward Senpai,” has announced a special guest star for episode 4. Model and cosplayer Nashiko Momotsuki will lend her talents to the series, voicing the character Nashiko Akizuki. Fans can look forward to this episode, which is set to air on October 23.

The anime made its debut on October 2, airing on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. JST (9:00 a.m. EDT) and on BS NTV at 11:00 p.m. JST. Viewers can also stream the series on U-NEXT, Anime Hลdai, and other platforms. Additionally, the anime is broadcast on the AT-X channel.

The talented cast and crew behind “My Awkward Senpai” include:

Ayumu Kotake, known for his work on “Acro Trip,” is directing the anime at Studio Elle. Mio Inoue, who has contributed to series like “Slow Start” and “Wonderful Precure!,” is handling the series scripts. Kenrล Tokuda, the chief animation director for “Acro Trip,” is responsible for character designs, while Kลji Fujimoto is composing the music.

The opening theme song, “Bukiyล na I love you” (The Awkward I love you), is performed by angela, adding a touch of musical flair to the series.

The manga, which inspired the anime, is published digitally in English by Comikey and Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global service. The story revolves around Kannawa-senpai, a character known for her awkwardness, and her interactions with Kamegawa, her new kouhai. The manga’s unique narrative and charming characters have garnered a dedicated following.

Kudo first shared the manga on their X/Twitter account in March 2019. It began serialization in Square Enix’s “Young Gangan” magazine in December 2019. The ninth compiled book volume was released on March 25, with the tenth volume following on September 25.

Fans of “My Awkward Senpai” can anticipate more delightful episodes and the exciting addition of Nashiko Momotsuki’s character in the upcoming weeks.
