The anticipation is building as Kadokawa unveils exciting new details about the upcoming season of Ugoku! Neko Mukashi Banashi, the beloved web anime adaptation of Pandania’s popular four-panel manga, Neko Mukashi Banashi. The latest reveal includes the main visual, additional staff members, the theme song artist, and a second promotional video.

The web anime, titled Ugoku! Neko Mukashi Banashi, will premiere on October 15 at 8:00 p.m. JST on its official YouTube channel. New episodes will be released every Wednesday, continuing the delightful journey of feline-inspired folktales.

The theme song for this season is “Muchū Neko” (Dreaming Cat), performed by the talented band Haku. The promotional video not only announces the theme song but also gives viewers a sneak peek into the enchanting world of Ugoku! Neko Mukashi Banashi.

The new staff members joining the team include:

Kazumi Nonaka, known for her work on Hana Kappa, Mameushi-kun, and Happy Happy Clover, will be directing the anime at Studio Comet.
Kenichi Yamashita, who has contributed to Hensuki, MF Ghost, and The Tale of Outcasts, will be in charge of the series scripts.
Narumi Shimoji, recognized for her character designs in Charanpo Land no Bōken and Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan, will be designing the characters.

The anime will star a talented voice cast, bringing the whimsical stories to life. The manga, which inspired the anime, has been a hit with readers, exploring the question, “What if a cat appeared in this story?” Each episode takes children’s stories and folktales from around the world and adds a feline twist, resulting in a unique and entertaining blend of humor and nostalgia.

Kadokawa has published three volumes of the manga so far: Neko Mukashi Banashi, Nyanto! Neko Mukashi Banashi, and Mikke! Neko Mukashi Banashi. The fourth volume, Yo! Neko Mukashi Banashi, is set to be released on October 16.

Pandania, the creator of Neko Mukashi Banashi, is also known for other cat-themed manga such as Cats With Jobs, The Evil Secret Society of Cats, Yokai Cats, and Monster Cats. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing all four manga in English, making them accessible to a global audience.

Dark Horse Comics is also getting in on the action, releasing Pandania’s Cthulhu Cat manga in English. This adds another layer of excitement for fans of Pandania’s work.
