Unveiling the Cast and Premiere of “Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?”
The official website for WWWave’s Deregula label has revealed exciting news about the upcoming short television anime adaptation of the manga “Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?” by Yakinikuteishoku. The anime’s main cast, staff, and premiere date have been announced, setting the stage for an intriguing exploration of relationships and artificial intelligence.
The on-air version of the anime will feature a talented voice cast, including:

Ayaka Shimizu as Akane Tsuda, a dedicated and well-liked office worker for a robotics manufacturer. In a moment of drunken spontaneity, she purchases an android to help tidy up her home.

Marika Hayase as Nadeshiko, the android Akane acquires. Unbeknownst to Akane, Nadeshiko is a “Romance-roid” and an illegal robot, adding a layer of complexity to their interaction.
Additionally, Komaru Kurikoma, a member of the Aogiri High School VTuber group, will make a guest appearance as Itō-san, Akane’s junior at work.
Behind the scenes, the anime is being directed by Neko B at Nyan Pollution-ω. Neko B is also responsible for the series scripts. The character designs and color key art are handled by Mitsuru Tsukiumi, known for their work on “Protocol: Rain.” Yutaka Aota, who previously worked on “Chuhai Lips: Canned Flavor of Married Women,” is directing the art. Tomohiro Hayashi serves as the compositing director of photography and editor, while Fumihiko Ōtera is the sound director. The music is composed by ZincP.
The manga, published by Ichijinsha, tells the story of Akane Tsuda, a 28-year-old office lady who appears to have it all together at work but struggles with a chaotic home life. Her decision to purchase an android named Nadeshiko leads to unexpected and humorous complications. The manga launched in Ichijinsha’s “Comic Yuri Hime” magazine in July 2021, and the sixth compiled book volume was released on May 16.
Deregula’s label has also produced other notable anime, including “Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World!” which premiered in Japan on April 6, and “Chuhai Lips: Canned Flavor of Married Women,” which premiered in July.
Fans can look forward to the January premiere of “Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?” and the unique blend of humor and drama it promises to deliver.
