The Gachiakuta manga, published by Kodansha, focuses on a world where the rich live lavishly atop floating cities while the poor scrape by in the shadows. Our hero, Rudo, finds himself falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, resulting in his unjust exile into a world of monsters and death. His journey for vengeance and survival drives this gritty and action-packed narrative.
The anime stars a roster of talented individuals. Fumihiko Suganuma, known for his work on The First Slam Dunk and Train to the End of the World, is directing the anime at BONES. Hiroshi Seko, who has made a name for himself with Chainsaw Man, Vinland Saga, and Mob Psycho 100, is heading the series scripts. Satoshi Ishino is handling character design and chief animation direction, having previously worked on Date A Live, Captain Earth, and Release the Spyce. The mesmerizing music of Taku Iwasaki, known for Bungo Stray Dogs and Shin Kamen Rider, will set the perfect mood for the series.
The anime made its debut in Japan on July 6 across multiple channels, including CBC and TBS. Fans worldwide, including those in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS (excluding Russia and Belarus), and the Indian subcontinent, can stream the series on Crunchyroll starting the same day. Crunchyroll is also offering a same-day English dubbed version of the series.
