Exciting News: Maki Kawase Joins the Cast of Kamiina Botan Anime
Fans of the upcoming anime adaptation of Kamiina Botan, Yoheru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana have reason to celebrate. The official X/Twitter account for the series revealed that Maki Kawase will voice the character Chang Chin-Lan. Alongside this announcement, a character trailer and visual for Chang were unveiled, giving viewers a sneak peek into the upcoming series.

The anime is set to premiere in April 2026, and the cast is shaping up to be a star-studded lineup. Sayumi Suzushiro will take on the role of the main character, Botan. Other notable cast members include Yoshino Aoyama as Ibuki Tomino, Minako Kotobuki as Kanade Gujล, Yurina Amami as Akane Yusa, and Miyu Tomita as Yaeka Kitamori.
The directing team is equally impressive, with Takashi Sakuma at the helm. Sakuma is known for his work on 16bit Sensation: Another Layer and Solo Leveling. He will be working at Soigne, with Shuntarล Tozawa serving as the assistant director. Character design is handled by Kล Yoshinari, while Yลซsuke Matsuo and Miyachi will be the main animators. The series scripts are written by Yลko Yonaiyama, and the music is composed by Kana Hashiguchi.
The manga, which the anime is based on, follows the story of Botan Kamiina, a 20-year-old college student who becomes more outgoing and says unexpected things when she drinks. The manga was launched on the Manga Cross website in March 2019 and has since gained a dedicated following. The sixth volume of the manga was released on March 18.
