At the heart of Rooster Fighter is Keiji, a rooster with an extraordinary calling. Known as humanity’s greatest defender, Keiji’s courage and rhythm-filled battle cry, “Kokekokko!”, resonate through powerful fights against colossal, towering foes. Viz Media describes the story, promising an action-packed journey with a unique and endearing protagonist.
The anime is gaining momentum with an impressive team behind it:
- Daisuke Suzuki will be directing the anime at SANZIGEN.
- Hiroshi Seko will handle the series scripts.
- Joseph Chou along with Sola Entertainment will produce the series.
Rooster Fighter is slated to make its television debut in spring 2026, further cementing its place as one of the most anticipated anime releases of the coming year. Viz Media will manage the worldwide streaming, television broadcast, home video, and merchandise outside of Japan, while Hero’s Inc. will handle the same aspects domestically. Viewers in North America will get to enjoy the series through Adult Swim, with additional streaming partners to be revealed soon. For many anime fans, the story’s quirky and colorful nature, combined with its compelling hero, is all the motivation needed to keep track of its release schedule.
The story of Rooster Fighter began in December 2020 when it debuted on the Comiplex manga website. The 10th compiled book volume was released by Hero’s on July 4 this year. Viz Media has also been actively releasing the manga in English, with the eighth volume hitting shelves on August 19th.
Social media users shared excitement about the series via the Rooster Fighter anime’s website and X/Twitter account, Comic Natalie.
