A new promotional video has been released, offering a sneak peek into the upcoming television anime adaptation of Kลcha Agasawa’s romantic comedy manga, You and I Are Polar Opposites. The third promotional video, unveiled on Friday, introduces PAS TASTA’s ending theme song, “Pure feat. Eriko Hashimoto,” and confirms the series’ debut date in Japan: January 11.

You and I Are Polar Opposites will premiere on January 11 on MBS, TBS, and their affiliates, airing on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. JST. For those who prefer streaming, the series will be available on ABEMA in Japan at 5:30 p.m. JST on Sundays. Additionally, the anime will be streamed internationally in partnership with Animax Broadcasting Korea and Medialink.
The anime is being directed by Takakazu Nagatomo at Lapin Track, with Teruko Utsumi handling the scripts and serving as the animation producer. Character designs are by Mako Miyako, while Naho Kozono and Sayuri Sakimoto serve as sub-character designers and chief animation directors. The music is composed by tofubeats, and the art direction is led by Chieko Nakamura.
The manga, which follows the story of Suzuki, an energetic girl who is drawn to Tani, a quiet boy, has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform since May 2022. The manga originally launched as a one-shot in January 2021 and concluded in November 2024, with the eighth and final volume released on March 4. The series has garnered significant popularity, with over 1.6 million copies in circulation, and has been recognized in the Manga Taisho Awards, ranking #3 in 2023 and #7 in 2024.
