The upcoming television adaptation of Yoshitoki Oima’s manga “To Your Eternity” is set to expand its cast for the third season. The new additions will bring depth to Mizuha’s classmates and Naginata members, enhancing the narrative.

The third season of “To Your Eternity” is scheduled to premiere on October 4 on NHK General. The series will also be available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
Reiji Kawashima and Kenjirล Tsuda will reprise their roles as Fushi and The Observer, respectively. Tomori Kusunoki, who voiced Hisame in the second season, will return as Mizuha, a second-year middle school student known for her academic and athletic prowess. Megumi Han, who previously voiced Torta, will return as Yลซki Aoki, a first-year middle school student and vice-president of the Occult Research Club. New to the cast is Yumiri Hanamori, who will voice a mysterious boy named Satoru.
Additional new cast members include Sลta Yokote, making his directorial debut with this season at Drive and STUDIO MASSKET. Kiyoko Sayama, who directed the second season, will serve as the chief director for the new season. Returning from the previous seasons are Shinzล Fujita for series scripts, Kลji Yabuno for character design, Ryล Kawasaki for music composition, and Takeshi Takadera for sound direction. The opening theme song, “Fumetsu no Anata” (Your Eternity), will be performed by Perfume.
The third season was first announced in March 2023 and will continue with the “This World” arc. The second season premiered on NHK Educational in October 2022 and was streamed worldwide by Crunchyroll, except in Asia. It also featured an English dub.
The first season of the anime debuted on NHK Educational in April 2021, after being delayed from its original October 2020 premiere due to COVID-19 production issues. Crunchyroll streamed the first season globally.
Yoshitoki Oima launched the manga in November 2016 in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The first arc concluded in December 2019, the second arc ran from January 2020 to October 2022, and the third arc began in January 2023, ending in this year’s 27th issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine on June 4. The 25th and final compiled book volume was released in Japan on August 12.

Crunchyroll released the manga in English digitally, simultaneously with its Japanese release, until it was removed in January 2023 with other Kodansha USA Publishing manga titles.
The manga won the Best Shonen Manga award at the 43rd annual Kodansha Manga Awards in May 2019 and ranked on the American Library Association’s 2019 list of Great Graphic Novels for Teens.
