Kadokawa recently announced that the duo will be part of the web anime adaptation of Pandania’s “Neko Mukashi Banashi,” a four-panel manga that reimagines classic folktales with a feline twist. This news comes as part of a series of exciting updates for the anime, which is set to debut on October 15.
In addition to the comedy duo, the anime will also feature guest voice actors from the idol group Snow Man and the boy band Junretsu. Daisuke Sakuma from Snow Man and Yūjirō Shirakawa from Junretsu will add their unique talents to the project, further enriching the cast.
The anime will premiere on October 15 at 8:00 p.m. JST on its official YouTube channel. New episodes will be released every Wednesday, ensuring that fans can enjoy fresh content regularly.
The main cast of the anime includes Kazumi Nonaka, who is directing the series at Studio Comet. Kenichi Yamashita, known for his work on “Hensuki” and “MF Ghost,” will be in charge of the series scripts. Narumi Shimoji, who has worked on “Charanpo Land no Bōken” and “Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan,” will be designing the characters.
The anime promises to be a delightful blend of humor and nostalgia, as it takes beloved children’s stories from around the world and asks, “What if a cat appeared in this story?” The series will explore this whimsical question through a mix of cute comedy and engaging storytelling.
Kadokawa has published three volumes of the manga so far: “Neko Mukashi Banashi,” “Nyanto! Neko Mukashi Banashi,” and “Mikke! Neko Mukashi Banashi.” The fourth volume, “Yo! Neko Mukashi Banashi,” is set to be released on October 16. Pandania, the creator of the manga, is known for other cat-themed works such as “Cats With Jobs,” “The Evil Secret Society of Cats,” “Yokai Cats,” and “Monster Cats.” Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing all four manga in English, and Dark Horse Comics is releasing “Cthulhu Cat” in English.
Fans of the manga and the upcoming anime can look forward to a rich and entertaining experience, filled with charming characters and delightful storytelling.
