Kaiju No. 8 Anime Previews Sagamihara Neutralization Operation; Arc in trailer

Preview: Kaiju No. 8 Anime Teases ‘Sagamihara Neutralization Operation’ Arc with New Video – Anime

The team behind the television adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 manga has unveiled a fresh trailer to offer a sneak peek into the forthcoming “Sagamihara Neutralization Operation” arc, set to debut later today.

© 防衛隊第3部隊 松本直也/集英社 The anime made its debut on TV Tokyo on April 13. Crunchyroll provides simultaneous streaming of the anime alongside its airing, including an English dub. Additionally, the anime streams worldwide on X/Twitter in real time, coinciding with its Japanese TV broadcast.

Shigeyuki Miya (Onihei) directs the anime, with Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) overseeing series composition and screenplay. Tetsuya Nishio (Naruto) serves as the character designer and chief animation director, while Mahiro Maeda (Shin Godzilla) designs the monsters. Shinji Kimura (Tekkonkinkreet) takes charge as the art director, and Yuta Bando (BELLE) handles music composition.

Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell) manages animation production, while Studio Khara (Rebuild of Evangelion) handles kaiju designs and artwork.

British singer YUNGBLUD performs the opening theme song “Abyss,” while American pop rock group OneRepublic performs the ending theme song “Nobody.”

Viz Media holds the license for the manga, releasing chapters digitally and physically. Shueisha publishes the manga on its MANGA Plus service under the title Monster #8. The story revolves around a man unexpectedly transforming into a monster, reigniting his lifelong aspirations.

Matsumoto launched the ongoing manga in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website.
