Exciting News: Tetsuryō! meet with Tetsudō Musume Anime Set for 2026 Release

Fans of the beloved Tetsudō Musume (Railway Girls) characters have something to look forward to. A new website launched on Wednesday, unveiling the original television anime titled Tetsuryō! meet with Tetsudō Musume. The site features the anime’s teaser visual, main staff, a sneak peek video, and the anticipated 2026 premiere date. The teaser video introduces the main characters: Misaki Sata, Usa Harutachi, Kodama Orihara, and Ushio Yagami.

The anime’s narrative revolves around four college students who share a deep love for trains. They are members of the Tetsuryō (short for Tetsudō Ryokō Dōkō-kai, or Railway Travel Club) and embark on a global journey to meet the hundreds of Tetsudō Musume characters who work in various railway companies and related businesses across Japan.

The original work is a collaboration between TOMYTEC and the writer of the novel I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level, Kisetsu Morita. The anime is directed by Misuzu Hoshino, known for her work on Laid-Back Camp, Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, and The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious. The series is being produced at East Fish Studio. Aya Satsuki, who has worked on Solo Camping for Two, Ippon Again!, and Too Cute Crisis, is overseeing the scripts. Character designs are handled by Hisanori Hashimoto, who also worked on the third season of Laid-Back Camp.

The Tetsudō Musume characters are iconic, dressed in real uniforms and work clothes, representing railway companies and related businesses throughout Japan. As of May 2025, there are 114 Tetsudō Musume characters across the country. The franchise, which launched in 2005, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
