ReMonster Anime Season 2 Announced

The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Kogitsune Kanekiru’s light novel series, Re:Monster, is set to return for a second season. The announcement was made on Thursday, much to the delight of fans who have been eagerly awaiting more content from this captivating series.

The first season of Re:Monster premiered in April 2024, quickly gaining a dedicated following for its unique storyline and engaging characters. The series follows the journey of Tomokui Kanata, who, after suffering an untimely death, is reborn into a fantastical world of swords and magic as a lowly goblin. Despite his humble beginnings, Kanata, now known as Rou, uses his new physical abilities and old memories to navigate a world where consuming other creatures allows him to acquire their strengths and powers.

The returning cast will reprise their roles, bringing the same energy and talent that made the first season a hit. The anime adaptation premiered in April 2024, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it aired in Japan. The platform also provided a same-day English dub, making the show accessible to a global audience.

Kanekiru initially shared the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. AlphaPolis published the first volume in 2012, with the ninth volume released in 2017. The novels are illustrated by Yamaada, and Hanashi Media will publish the English versions.

AlphaPolis also serializes Haruyoshi Kobayakawa’s ongoing manga adaptation monthly on its website. The 13th compiled book volume is set to be released on Friday. Seven Seas publishes the manga adaptation in English, with the 12th volume scheduled for release in January 2026. The manga’s story is described as follows:
