The highly anticipated anime series, Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation, has unveiled its first full promotional video for the inaugural season, titled Episode of Heartslabyul. This captivating preview, released on Monday, introduces the enchanting ending theme song, “Obedience,” performed by the Heartslabyul Ryōsei (Heartslabyul Dorm Mates). The video also showcases clips from beloved Disney films, setting the stage for characters inspired by iconic Disney villains. The narration is expertly delivered by a seasoned voice actor known for his work in Disney dubs.

The protagonist, Yōken Enma, is voiced by Yōhei Azakami, who also portrays the character in the manga adaptation of the original game. Yuken is a dedicated member of the kendō (swordsmanship) club at Hibari Metropolitan High School. One fateful evening under a full moon, a mysterious black carriage appears, transporting him to the alternate world of Twisted-Wonderland. He finds himself at the enrollment ceremony for the prestigious magic training academy, Night Raven College.
The main cast for the first season, Episode of Heartslabyul, includes several returning voice actors from the original game. New additions to the cast include Kenyū Horiuchi as Dark Mirror and Kento Hama as Che’nya. Additional cast members will be revealed soon, representing various dorms within the academy, such as Savanaclaw, Octavinelle, Scarabia, Pomefiore, Ignihyde, Diasomnia, and the Night Raven College Staff.
Takahiro Natori, known for his work on Aria the Benedizione and Tokyo Mew Mew New, serves as the chief director and series script supervisor. Shin Katagai, who directed The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, is helming the project at Yumeta Company and Graphinica. Yoichi Kato, renowned for his contributions to Space Brothers and Aikatsu!, is the main writer. Character designs are handled by Hanaka Nakano and Akane Satō.
Takumi Ozawa, the composer of the game, is also composing the music for the anime. The opening theme song, “Piece of my world,” is performed by the Night Ravens.
The first season, consisting of eight episodes, will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on October 29. The series is set to run for three seasons, adapting the original smartphone game’s accompanying manga under the titles Episode of Heartslabyul, Episode of Savanaclaw, and Episode of Octavinelle.
The game’s narrative begins when the main character is summoned to another world by a magical mirror. Upon arrival, the protagonist finds themselves at the prestigious Night Raven College. With no other options, the main character seeks protection from the school’s masked headmaster and forms bonds with the brilliant yet uncooperative students while searching for a way back home.
