Fans of the hit manga and anime series Spy x Family have reason to celebrate. TOHO animation recently released a thrilling 41-second promotional video that offers a sneak peek into the upcoming third season of the beloved series. This new season, titled “Loid Forger: Past Arc,” is set to premiere on October 11.

The promotional video, which was streamed on Saturday, gives viewers an exciting glimpse into what to expect from the new season. Fans can look forward to a deeper dive into the past of Loid Forger, the master spy at the heart of the series.

The third season of Spy x Family kicked off on October 4 at 11:00 p.m. on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TV Kyushu. Additionally, the season aired on BS TV Tokyo on October 5. For international viewers, Crunchyroll is streaming the new season as it airs in Japan, excluding Asia.

Yukiko Imai, who directed episodes in previous seasons, is at the helm for the third season. She is working with Wit Studio and CloverWorks, taking over from Kazuhiro Furuhashi and Takahiro Harada, who directed the second season. Yuki Takeuchi and Tomomi Sugimoto are handling the art setting, while Keita Watanabe is the CG director. Rina Koguchi is the editor for this season.

The new season also features a returning cast and staff, ensuring that fans will enjoy the same high-quality production they have come to expect. Spitz is performing the opening theme song “Hi o Mamoru” (Protect the Light), and Lilas Ikuta is performing the ending theme song “Actor.”

The first season of Spy x Family premiered in April 2022, with Crunchyroll streaming the episodes as they aired in Japan. The second half of the first season premiered in October 2022, and Crunchyroll continued to stream the series. The second season premiered in October 2023 and aired for 12 episodes, with Crunchyroll streaming it as well.

The SPY x FAMILY Code: White anime film opened in Japan in December 2023 and topped the Japanese box office in its first weekend. The film is an original story and was released in North America in April 2024, debuting at #5 at the U.S. box office.

Viz Media is publishing the original and ongoing manga in English, describing the story as follows:

Shueisha is simultaneously posting the manga in English on its MANGA Plus service. Viz Media added the manga to its app as part of its Shonen Jump subscription in September 2019 and is also publishing the manga in print.

The manga has inspired a stage musical that ran from March to May 2023. The second stage musical will run from September to December this year.
