The anime adaptation of the popular game Needy Streamer Overload, originally titled Needy Girl Overdose in Japanese, is set to premiere in April 2026. This exciting news was unveiled by Aniplex in a recent announcement video. The reveal also included the first key visual and the main staff involved in the project.
The upcoming anime will feature an advance screening of its theatrical version, which is a special edit of the TV anime episodes. This exclusive event will take place at Theatre Shinjuku in Tokyo and Theatre Umeda in Osaka.
WSS playground is credited with the original work, and Masaoki Nakajima, known for his work on New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT, Blue Archive The Animation, and Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!, will be directing the anime at Yostar Pictures. The game’s scenario writer, nyalra, is credited for the original idea, scenario, and supervision. The original character design is by Ohisashiburi, with Kenji Saikai, Akari Takei, and Umito Shimizu serving as the main character designers.
The game, Needy Girl Overdose, is a multi-ending adventure that follows the life of a girl with an intense desire for validation as she aims to become the ultimate streamer, with the support of “P”. It was released simultaneously in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean on PC via Steam in January 2022. The game has since garnered over 3 million downloads and is also available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
Additionally, Itaru Bonnoki, known for The Vampire Dies in No Time, launched a manga adaptation of the game titled Needy Girl Overdose: Run with My Sick on Akita Shoten’s Manga Cross website in March 2023.
