J-Novel Club pours this literary brew for English readers, decanting the story’s essence:
Lady Carolina, the spectrum’s forgotten hue in her duke’s vibrant family portrait, measures herself against impossible standards. While her father governs the kingdom and her sister channels celestial magic as heir to the Saint’s mantle, Carolina resigns herself to the periphery – until royal decree paints her into a dangerous masterpiece. The “Bloodthirsty Prince” of Malcosias Empire awaits his unwilling bride in this political oil slick of arranged matrimony.
What begins as survival in a gilded cage becomes Carolina’s crucible. Between statecraft’s razor edges and awakening devotion, she’ll discover powers dormant as winter seeds – and redefine what makes a woman extraordinary.
J-Novel Club also translates Yona Etou’s manga rendition of this tale.
Almond first planted this story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō before uprooting it in May 2022. Earth Star Entertainment cultivated the printed version with Ambe’s illustrations from June 2021, concluding the four-volume harvest by June 2023. English readers have all novels available through J-Novel Club.
Etou’s manga sprouted on Comic Earth Star’s digital soil in April 2022, still growing. Volume 6 bloomed in Japan on March 12; English audiences plucked digital Volume 4 on July 9 with Volume 5 currently unfolding.
