Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days Anime Reveals More Cast, Staff, Opening Song in 1st Promo Video

Happinet unveiled the key visual, additional cast members, staff details, and the first promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Yui Tamura’s Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days (Yano-kun no Futsū no Hibi) manga. The promo video also features a preview of the opening theme song “POP LIFE” performed by FANTASTICS.

The newly announced cast includes:

Atsumi Tanezaki as Mei, Kiyoko’s best friend

Taito Ban as Hashiba, the class representative alongside Kiyoko

Rie Takahashi as Izumi, Hashiba’s childhood friend

Ryōta Iwasaki as Tanaka, Mei’s childhood friend

Yayoi Tateishi (Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions, Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter) serves as the anime’s sound director. Bit Grooove Production handles sound production, while Nippon TV Music oversees music production.

The anime is set to premiere in October.

• Yuka Nukui as Kiyoko Yoshida

Shinpei Matsuo (Ascendance of a Bookworm, Kakushigoto, Kemono Jihen) directs the anime at Ajia-do, with Deko Akao (Arakawa Under the Bridge, Ragna Crimson) writing the script. Toshihisa Kaiya (Ascendance of a Bookworm, World Trigger) designs the characters, and Hideakira Kimura (Gundam Build Divers, Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE) composes the music.

The comedy follows Tsuyoshi Yano, a perpetually unlucky high school boy, and Kiyoko Yoshida, the classmate who grows concerned about his misfortunes. After noticing Yano’s frequent injuries, Yoshida begins observing his daily struggles and vows to support him.

Tamura launched the manga on Kodansha’s Comic Days website in June 2021, where it remains ongoing. The 10th compiled volume was released on March 12.

The series previously inspired a live-action film adaptation, which premiered in Japan in November 2024.
