The remote island suspense horror manga Bokura no Natsu ga Saketeiku (Summer’s gonna tear us apart) is set to conclude in two chapters. The story takes place in Itsuki’s hometown on Sengetsu Island. After leaving for high school, Itsuki returns when his younger sister Mayu suffers a serious injury. However, he finds the island’s extreme COVID-19 measures unsettling—including the rule to wear masks even while eating. One night, he encounters something eerie near his home, leading him to question what secrets lie behind the island’s strange precautions.
The manga began serialization in Young Animal magazine in August 2023, with the first volume releasing in February 2024. The fourth volume was published digitally on May 29.
The mangaka behind the series previously collaborated on works such as Impossibility Defense and Magical Girl Site. The artist, KentarĹŤ SatĹŤ, recently concluded another series, Immortality and Punishment, in March 2025. Meanwhile, the writer, Arata Miyatsuki, previously worked on psychological thrillers like Castration: Rebirth.
