The July edition of Kodansha‘s monthly Kiss magazine revealed on Saturday that Yayoi Ogawa‘s Eme to Hime manga will conclude in the upcoming issue on June 25.
The narrative centers on Hime, a second-year middle school student, and her 13-year-old female Jack Russell Terrier named Eme. They share a sisterly bond and are always together. One day, during their usual walk, they are involved in a traffic accident. Upon waking, they face the significant aftermath of the incident.

Ogawa began this series in June 2023.

Previously, Ogawa introduced the romantic comedy manga Knight of the Ice (Ginban Kishi) in Kiss magazine in September 2012, concluding it in June 2017. Kodansha released 11 collected volumes of this manga. Kodansha USA Publishing later licensed it, publishing the final volume in English in August 2022.

Tokyopop brought Ogawa’s Kimi wa Pet manga to North America under the title Tramps Like Us. Comixology added it to their service in June 2019. This manga was also adapted into a 10-episode Japanese live-action television series in 2003, featuring Koyuki as Sumire and Jun Matsumoto as Momo. Additionally, it inspired a 2011 live-action Korean film with Jang Geun-suk and Kim Ha-neul, and a 2017 Japanese live-action TV series adaptation.
