The September whispers of Ichijinsha‘s Comic Yuri Hime magazine spilled thrilling news on Thursday: Miman‘s Yuri Is My Job! (Watashi no Yuri wa Oshigoto Desu!) manga will awaken from its slumber in the magazine’s next chapter on August 18. After a health-induced intermission starting May 2024, the stage is set for its grand return.
Kodansha USA Publishing holds the English script, framing the tale like this:
Hime plays her high school role flawlessly—until a clumsy collision with café manager Mai forces her into an unexpected understudy gig. The twist? This café is a theater where waitresses perform as elegant schoolgirls. Beneath the dainty act, sparks fly when Hime locks eyes with the establishment’s star. Layers unravel—so do her rehearsed smiles—as hidden feelings threaten to rewrite the script.
Miman first raised the curtain on this manga in Ichijinsha‘s Comic Yuri Hime back in November 2016. Volume 13 bowed in Japan during January 2024, with Kodansha USA’s English edition taking its bow on January 7.
The story leapt from pages to screens in April 2023 with a televised anime adaptation. Crunchyroll broadcast the performance worldwide as Japan tuned in live.
