Sega revealed during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase that it will release its Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza Kiwami games — both remakes of the original Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku, or Like a Dragon) and Yakuza 2 action games, respectively — for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 13. A bundle including both games will be available.
Both releases will feature new in-game text support for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
Sega previously released Yakuza Kiwami for Nintendo Switch last October. The Switch 2 version features enhanced graphics and improved visuals over the Switch version.
Yakuza Kiwami launched in Japan for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in 2016, followed by an English release for PS4 in 2017, and later for PC via Steam in 2019. The original Ryū ga Gotoku game debuted for PlayStation 2 in 2005.
Yakuza Kiwami 2, a full remake of Yakuza 2, released for PlayStation 4 in 2017, followed by English versions in 2018, and later on PC in 2019. The game also arrived on Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2020.
Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut, the updated Nintendo Switch 2 version of its 2015 game, launched alongside the console on June 5. The updated version includes new cutscenes, an online multiplayer mode, and a new English dub, along with additional language support.
The series’ latest game, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (Ryū ga Gotoku 8 Gaiden: Pirates in Hawaii), launched worldwide for multiple platforms in February, one week earlier than originally planned.
