Koe no Furu Heya cracks open its door on July 28
The latest issue of Weekly Big Comic Spirits (Shogakukan) dropped news hotter than fresh ink: mangaka duo HERO and Takahashi Tsutsuji will launch their suspense-laced collaboration Koe no Furu Heya in the magazine’s next edition. At its heart – an illustrator jolted awake by a cryptic SOS from a forgotten classmate about a shadowy pursuer.
This marks HERO’s latest storytelling swing after June 2023’s Terasu Hikari wa Ani no Omokage, a three-chapter character study co-created with Imaru Adachi in the same magazine.

HERO’s legacy continues to reverberate through Horimiya‘s 10-year manga odyssey. Daisuke Hagiwara’s visual adaptation of the original four-panel comic sprouted in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy (2011-2021), culminating in 17 volumes. The story’s second life blossomed through multiple anime iterations – Funimation’s 2021 adaptation, followed by Crunchyroll’s 2023 epilogue series The Missing Pieces.
