This remaster brings back the excitement and action of the original, which first launched globally in 2002. The story of samurais in a supernatural twist remains as compelling as ever.

The Onimusha series began in 2001 and has since captured the hearts of players with its unique blend of historical fiction from the Sengoku era and supernatural elements. The latest addition to the series, a remaster of “Onimusha: Warlords,” hit the market in January 2019.

“Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny” was initially released for PlayStation 2 in Japan in March 2002, followed by North America in August 2002, and Europe in October 2002. Its success led to an even more ambitious project—a CG film that combined animated footage from the “Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams” video game with extra animated scenes, known as “Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.”

The Onimusha franchise has left a lasting impact, inspiring various forms of media. An anime series based on the franchise debuted on Netflix worldwide in November 2023.
