Discover Opening Artist for Kakuriyo Season 2 Anime Premiering in October

The much-awaited Kakuriyo – Bed & Breakfast for Spirits – anime series is gearing up for its second season, slated to premiere on October 1. The first tantalizing glimpse of this season was released on social media earlier this month.

In Japan, Kakuriyo – Bed – Breakfast for Spirits – Ni, as it’s officially called, will air on Tokyo MX.

The series is an adaptation of the light novel Kakuriyo Yadomeshi (Afterlife Inn Cooking) by Midori Yûma, illustrated by Laruha Todomeishi.
It will feature Nao Tôyama as the lead vocalist for both the opening and ending theme songs for this anime season. Tôyama will also be voicing the protagonist, Aoi.
The opening theme song, Tôryanse, and the ending theme song, “Namida no Recipe,””(Recipe for Tears) will be released together on a CD single on November 5.

Crunchyroll will be streaming the second season in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS, and India.

In the animated series, the heroine, Aoi, is a young college student who can see supernatural beings thanks to a gift from her late grandfather. Throughout the series, Aoi shows pride in her cooking. One day, as she tends to agricultural spirits, an inn owner appears impeding her way. He tells Aoi of her grandfather’s debt, claiming that she must marry the owner posing as a god to offset the outstanding dues.
Determined to refuse, Aoi instead proposes working off her late grandfather’s debt by working at the Tenjin-ya inn.

The first season premiered in April 2018, with Crunchyroll handling the streaming duties while Funimation provided the English dubbing.

For the second season, Joe Yoshizaki will be directing the series at Gonzo Studio, who also produced the first season. The animation studio Makaria will help produce the new season. Tomoko Konparu will be returning to write the scripts, a role she has had from the beginning. Hidemi Katsura will oversee character design, a new role for this season.

Yoo Cheol Gran will be leading the animation composition direction department. Noriyo GoroKu previously had a role in the series as an art director; he will continue with initial color-check art boards.
Yi Non Chen, known for The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows, will manage the composition of the art camera, while Satoho Motoyama will direct the sound.

Yoshifumi Iga (Watatente!, Oshi no Ko) will be composing the music. Takuro Igae is returning with Flying Dog to complement the scoring.

Yûma released the first light novel in Fujimi L Bunko in 2015. Kadokawa published the 12th book in this light novel series in 2022. The initial manga adaptation, written by Waco Ioka for B’s-LOG COMIC, sold over 11 volumes and remains ongoing. Tsugaru Toba launched a new manga adaptation for the Monthly Shonen Sirius that is now on its ninth volume.

which is the basis of the anime. Viz Media is responsible for the translation and local publication of the manga in North America, under the same title as the anime.
