Excitement is building as Netflix fans prepare to discover more about the highly anticipated adaptation of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run. Netflix we’re excited to confirm that a special global livestream event scheduled for September 23 will reveal additional details about the upcoming anime.
In addition to the live stream on September 23, Warner Bros. Japan will also broadcast the event on their official YouTube channel, ensuring that fans from around the world can tune in and get the latest updates.
The highly anticipated JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run anime is being helmed by an impressive lineup of industry talent. Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi will co-direct the series, while Toshiyuki Kato will serve as series director. The scripting duties are handled by Yasuko Kobayashi, with character designs by Daisuke Tsumagari. Additionally, the series will feature compositions by Yugo Kanno and sound direction by Yoshikazu Iwanami, both of whom have previously collaborated on other entries in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise.
Viz Media has licensed the manga in English and it is already available in the first print and digital volumes. This edition has Johnny Joestar, who becomes a participant in an auspicious horse race which greatly impacts the outcome of the race.
Hirohiko Araki launched the original manga in the Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2004, where it remained until moving to Ultra Jump in 2005. The final chapter of the series was published in the magazine in 2011. Steel Ball Run comprises 24 volumes, spanning volumes 81-105 of the overall JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga.
David Productions’ anime adaptation has been faithfully covering Araki’s manga starting with Part 1 and continuing through Part 6, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. The anime made its debut on Netflix with the first 12 episodes entering the library in December 2021. The second part of the series, consisting of episodes 13-24, premiered in September 2022 on Netflix. The third and final part, which includes episodes 25-38, hit the streaming service in December 2022. These installments guarantee fans have the latest thriving storylines to enjoy at their fingertips.
Notably, Araki launched the latest installment of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, titled The JOJOLands, in Ultra Jump in February 2023. This series represents the ninth part of the iconic franchise.
Fans of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise have enjoyed various entries in different mediums, including video games, stage musicals, and live-action adaptations, such as the spinoff manga Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe.
