Star Megumi Han Reveals Theme Song for 4th Resurrection Yamato Film

Mizuiro no Sasha: The Symphony of the Sea

In an exciting update from Bandai Namco Filmworks, the fourth installment of the “Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199” series is set to premiere with fresh musical talent. The renowned voice actress Megumi Han has been chosen to perform the theme song, “Hikari no Nami” (Light Wave), for “Mizuiro no Sasha” (The Aqua Sasha). This poignant track also serves as the character song for Sasha, a role that Han has energetically embraced following her predecessor.

The new theme song, “Hikari no Nami,” underscores the film’s emotional depth and conveys the timeless spirit of the saga. Fans can look forward to hearing this beautiful composition on September 30, adding an inspiring layer to the narrative that continues to captivate audiences.

“Mizuiro no Sasha,” the fourth film in the “Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199” series, will hit Japanese screens on October 10, 2025. This eagerly awaited installment will follow “Gunjō no Asteroid,” the third film, which opened on April 11, this year.

Devotees of space opera and celestial adventures will be thrilled to learn about the series’ premiere plans: seven films in total. The streaming service Crunchyroll is set to broadcast this epic journey as “Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199,” ensuring that fans worldwide can be part of this interstellar odyssey.

The latest entry in the “Yamato” franchise is helmed by expert director Naomichi Yamato, known for his work on acclaimed series such as “From the New World” and “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.” The story, guided by head writer and supervising director Harutoshi Fukui, promises to maintain the series’ signature blend of emotional storytelling and breathtaking visuals.

As the intricate narrative unfolds, heavyweight collaborators like Hideki Oka, Nobuteru Yuki, Junichirou Tamamori, Mika Akitaka, and Yasushi Ishizu contribute to the series’ mechanical genius. Tasked with bringing the vibrant characters to life is Hideki Oka, while the mechanical designs form an engineering marvel under the skilled hands of team members like Junichirou Tamamori, Mika Akitaka, and Yasushi Ishizu.

The storytelling tapestry is further enriched with Hiroyuki Gotō’s meticulous CG production and Shusuke Uechi’s CG direction. The film’s sonic landscape will be orchestrated by sound director Tomohiro Yoshida, who will compose the music with Akira Miyagawa and Sho Kanematsu, carrying the legacy of original composer Hiroshi Miyagawa.

In summary, the eagerly awaited release date is right around the corner, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. As this cinematic space opera reaches new heights, fans can rest assured that the heart of the “Yamato” legacy beats on through every frame and note.

In addition to the thematic music, “Mizuiro no Sasha” will charter the vibrancy of Sasha, echoing themes of resilience and hope, closely tied to the raw emotion embedded in “Hikari no Nami.”

The Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases are scheduled for December 24, closing out the year with another chapter in the timeless tale of “Space Battleship Yamato.”
