The anticipation for the upcoming anime adaptation of Masakuni Igarashi’s manga, “Tune In to the Midnight Heart,” continues to grow. The anime is set to premiere in 2026, and fans are eagerly awaiting more details about the cast and production team. Here’s a closer look at the key figures behind the scenes:

Directing and Production:
Masayuki Takahashi, known for his work on “Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig,” will be directing the anime at Gekkō. Yukie Sugawara, who has worked on the popular series “Overlord,” will be in charge of the series scripts. Character designs will be handled by Tomoyuki Shitaya, who has previously worked on “Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma” and “Bakuman.”

Storyline:
The manga, originally published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, follows Arisu Yamabuki, a high school student who finds solace in the voice of a mysterious radio host named “Apollo.” Years later, Arisu sets out on a mission to find Apollo, leading him to the school’s broadcasting club where he meets four aspiring voice talents. The story promises a blend of mystery, friendship, and self-discovery.

Igarashi, the creator of “Senryū Girl” and “Detectives These Days Are Crazy!,” launched the manga in September 2023. The 10th volume was recently released, and the series has gained a significant following both in Japan and internationally. Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga, with the third volume hitting the shelves on September 2.

Fans can look forward to more updates as the release date approaches. Stay tuned for further announcements and behind-the-scenes looks at the production process.
