The spinoff manga delves into the life of Hiroshi Nohara, the father of Shin-chan and the head of the Nohara family. As a 35-year-old salaryman, Hiroshi faces the daily challenge of balancing limited time and money to prepare his lunches. Throughout the manga, Hiroshi shares his culinary experiences, offers food trivia, and vents about workplace issues such as treating superiors to meals, sudden workloads that cut into his lunch breaks, and dealing with difficult bosses.
Toshiyuki Morikawa will reprise his role as Hiroshi Nohara from the “Crayon Shin-chan” anime.
Tsukasa Nishiyama, known for his work on “Mugyutto! Black Clover,” “mini vanguard Large,” and “The Human Crazy University,” is directing the anime at DLE in Flash-style animation. Shin-Ei Animation, the studio behind “Crayon Shin-chan,” is also involved in the production. Hasyashi Mori and Moral are handling the scripts, while Koutarou Yamawaki is responsible for character design. Akifumi Tada will compose the music, and Mega Shinnosuke will perform the opening theme song “Gohan Tabeyo” (Let’s Eat).
The anime is set to premiere on TV Asahi on October 3.
Tsukahara launched the manga in Futabasha’s “Manga Town” magazine in December 2015. After the magazine ceased publication in December 2023, the manga continued on the Manga “Crayon Shin-chan” website. Futabasha published the 12th compiled volume of the manga in May 2024. The manga’s title is inspired by the popular workplace documentary series “Professional: Shigoto no Ryūgi” (Professional: The Style of Work).
Yoshito Usui created the original “Crayon Shin-chan” manga, which began in Futabasha’s “Manga Action” magazine in 1990. Usui passed away on September 11, 2009. The manga has since inspired a long-running franchise, including a highly-rated television anime adaptation that has aired weekly since 1992, annual anime films, games, merchandise, and more.
Usui’s team launched the “Shin Crayon Shin-chan” manga in Futabasha’s “Monthly Manga Town” magazine in August 2010. After the magazine ended, the manga moved to the Manga “Crayon Shin-chan” website.
“Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers” (Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Magnificent! Scorching Kasukabe Dancers), the latest film in the “Crayon Shin-chan” series, opened on August 8.
