Anime fans are in for a treat as a new web series is set to premiere on October 15. The series, titled Ugoku! Neko Mukashi Banashi, is an adaptation of the popular four-panel manga Neko Mukashi Banashi by Pandania. This charming anime will bring a fresh twist to classic folktales by introducing cats into the mix, creating a delightful blend of humor and nostalgia.

The series will feature a star-studded cast, with Kazumi Nonaka leading the voice acting lineup. Nonaka is known for her roles in Hana Kappa, Mameushi-kun, and Happy Happy Clover. The anime will be directed by Nonaka at Studio Comet, with Kenichi Yamashita handling the series scripts. Yamashita has previously worked on Hensuki, MF Ghost, and The Tale of Outcasts. Character designs will be handled by Narumi Shimoji, who has worked on Charanpo Land no Bōken and Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan.

The web anime will debut on October 15 at 8:00 p.m. JST on its official YouTube channel. New episodes will be released every Wednesday, ensuring that viewers have plenty of content to look forward to.

In addition to the main cast, the series will also feature guest voice actors, with Daisuke Sakuma of the idol group Snow Man joining the lineup. Details about Sakuma’s role and other guest appearances will be announced in the coming weeks.

Kadokawa has published three volumes of the manga so far: Neko Mukashi Banashi, Nyanto! Neko Mukashi Banashi, and Mikke! Neko Mukashi Banashi. The fourth volume, Yo! Neko Mukashi Banashi, is set to be released on October 16.

Pandania is renowned for their cat-themed manga, including Cats With Jobs, The Evil Secret Society of Cats, Yokai Cats, and Monster Cats. All four of these manga are being released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. Additionally, Dark Horse Comics is releasing Pandania’s Cthulhu Cat manga in English.

Ugoku! Neko Mukashi Banashi promises to be a delightful addition to the anime landscape, combining classic stories with the whimsical charm of cats. Fans of Pandania’s work and anime enthusiasts alike are sure to enjoy this unique and entertaining series.
