Jigokuraku Season 2: New Cast Unveiled in First Promo Video

The anime adaptation of Yûji Kaku’s Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku has revealed exciting updates for its second season. The official website unveiled new cast members and shared the first promotional video, setting the stage for what promises to be an exhilarating continuation of the series. The second season is slated to air on TV Tokyo and its affiliated channels, with streaming availability on Prime Video, Netflix, and Lemino in Japan.

The promotional video introduces several new cast members who will bring depth and intrigue to the upcoming season. Kôji Yusa will voice Yamada Asaemon Jikka, Maaya Uchida will portray Yamada Asaemon Kiyomaru, and Sayaka Ôhara will lend her voice to Yamada Asaemon Isuzu. Additionally, Ryôta Suzuki, previously announced, will play the character of Yamada Asaemon Shugen, who first appeared in the first season’s final episode.

The anime’s staff has also released new character visuals for Gabimaru, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, Chôbei Aza, Yamada Asaemon Tōma, and Yuzuriha, offering fans a glimpse into the evolving dynamics of the series.

In other news, Twin Engine announced the launch of Hell’s Paradise: Paradise Battle, a survival role-playing game based on the manga. The game is set to debut for iOS, Android, and Windows in early November 2025.

The second season of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs, ensuring global accessibility for fans.

The creative team behind the anime includes director Kaori Makita, who returns to helm the project at MAPPA. Akira Kindaichi is in charge of series scripts, while Akitsugu Hisagi handles character design and Yoshiaki Dewa composes the music. Ayako Suenaga returns as the color key artist. New staff members include Chika Toda as the compositing director of photography and Junichi Higashi as the art director.

The first season of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku premiered in April 2023 and aired on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. The series is available on Crunchyroll in America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, and on Netflix in Asian-Pacific countries, excluding Australia, New Zealand, and China. An English dub is also being streamed by Crunchyroll.

The manga, which serves as the foundation for the anime, follows the story of Gabimaru, a former ninja who, despite multiple execution attempts, survives due to his extraordinary training. He is given a mission to find the elixir of immortality as a chance to win his acquittal. The manga was launched on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app in January 2018 and concluded in January 2021. The series is available digitally through Viz Media’s Shonen Jump service and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service, as well as in print through Viz Media.

Additionally, the manga has been adapted into a stage play titled Hell’s Paradise -Tsui no Shō-, which ran in Tokyo and Kyoto in February 2024.
