New Anime DVD Bundled with 10th Mix Spinoff Manga

The latest installment of the Given series has arrived, and fans are thrilled. The 10th Mix spinoff manga, penned by Natsuki Kizu, hit the shelves in Japan on Wednesday. This release is particularly special because it comes bundled with an exclusive anime DVD featuring four brand-new episodes.

The DVD includes the following episodes:
1. “Uka” (Emergence)
2. “Yama e” (To the Mountains)
3. “Ai no Waltz” (Love’s Waltz)
4. “Yoridori Given” (Given Your Choice)

The Given 10th Mix spinoff manga began its run in Shinshokan’s Chéri+ magazine in January 2024 and concluded in March of this year. The story of this spinoff is set a decade after the events of the main manga, offering fans a deeper dive into the beloved characters.

Natsuki Kizu first launched the original Given manga in Chéri+ in 2014. The series concluded in March 2023, with the ninth and final compiled book volume published in September of the same year. The manga’s popularity has led to various adaptations, including a television anime that premiered on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block in July 2019. This adaptation was notable for being the first anime based on a boys-love manga to air on Noitamina. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired and later added an English dub in August 2022. The story revolves around Ritsuka Uenoyama, who rekindles his passion for music after meeting Mafuyu Sato.

The Given franchise has also seen a film adaptation, which opened in Japan in May 2020. Crunchyroll is streaming this film, allowing international fans to enjoy it. Additionally, an original video anime titled Given: Uragawa no Sonzai, which focuses on Mafuyu and Ritsuka during the events of the Given movie, was released with the limited edition of the manga’s seventh volume in December 2021. Crunchyroll began streaming this OVA episode in July 2022.

The Given series continues to expand with a two-part sequel anime film project. The first film, Eiga Given: Hiiragi mix, debuted in January 2024, and the second film, Eiga Given: Umi e, opened in September 2024. These films further explore the story and characters that fans have come to love.

Beyond anime adaptations, the Given manga has also been adapted into a live-action series, which premiered on Fuji TV’s FOD streaming service in July 2021. Crunchyroll streamed this series as it aired in Japan. The manga has also been brought to life on stage, with the first stage play adaptation running in November 2021 and the second stage play, titled Butai Given: Umi e, taking place this May.
