Exciting News: “Draw This, Then Die!” Anime Reveals Premiere Date and Key Staff
The official website for the upcoming television anime adaptation of the manga “Draw This, Then Die!” by Minoru Toyoda has unveiled significant details. The site launched with a teaser promotional video that announced the anime’s director, animation studio, and premiere date for 2026.
Hiroaki Akagi, known for his work on “The Dangers in My Heart” and “Teasing Master Takagi-san,” will be directing the anime. The production will be handled by Shin-Ei Animation, a renowned studio in the anime industry.

Minoru Toyoda launched the manga in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine in November 2021. The series is also available on Sunday Webry. The eighth volume of the manga is set to be released on October 10.
The manga is set in Izuoshima, an island located 120 kilometers south of Tokyo. It follows the story of Ai Yasumi, a high school girl who enjoys reading manga and discovers the joys and challenges of creating her own.
The manga has garnered significant recognition, winning an award at the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January and the 16th Manga Taisho awards in 2023. Additionally, it ranked at #6 for manga for male readers in the 2023 edition of Takarajimasha’s “Kono Manga ga Sugoi!” guidebook.
