Unveiling the Enchanting World of Witch Hat Atelier Anime
The anticipation for the upcoming anime adaptation of Kamome Shirahama’s beloved manga, Witch Hat Atelier, reached new heights at New York Comic Con. The production team unveiled a captivating “welcome” visual featuring the charming characters Koko and Qifrey, giving fans a tantalizing glimpse into the magical world they can expect.

In an exciting yet bittersweet announcement, the anime’s release has been postponed from 2025 to 2026. The production team assured fans that this delay is to ensure that the project’s charm is presented at an even higher quality, promising an unforgettable viewing experience.
The creative minds behind this magical journey include renowned director Ayumu Watanabe, known for his work on Ace Attorney and Doraemon films. Watanabe will be leading the project at BUG FILMS. Hiroaki Kojima, who previously served as the animation producer for Komi Can’t Communicate, will be producing the anime. Character design will be handled by Kairi Unabara, who brought the Pokémon Evolutions series to life. The enchanting score will be composed by Yuka Kitamura, who previously worked on Elden Ring.
Fans can look forward to streaming the anime as it airs, thanks to Crunchyroll, which will be broadcasting the series globally.
Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier manga first debuted in Kodansha’s Morning two magazine in July 2016. The series quickly gained a dedicated following, leading to its English release by Kodansha USA Publishing in April 2019.
