Unveiling “The Lenticulars”: Trigger’s Latest Web Anime Series
The anime world is buzzing with excitement as Trigger, the renowned studio known for its innovative and high-energy productions, has unveiled its latest web anime series, “The Lenticulars.” The first episode, titled “Work Gloves are Gloves,” is now available for streaming. Fans can look forward to new episodes every Friday at 8:00 p.m. JST (6:00 a.m. EST starting next week). The video below includes English subtitles that can be toggled on for convenience.
“The Lenticulars” features a captivating theme song composed and written by Kousuke Hayashi, with vocals by Scenarioart. The series is helmed by Akira Amemiya, who serves as the director, writer, and oversees the series scripts. Amemiya’s multifaceted role extends to character design, storyboard, episode direction, animation, and color coordination. The musical score is composed by Rikiya Okada of 24chocolate, adding depth to the series’ auditory experience.
The talented voice cast includes Manato Okawara as Rakkun, Uta Aihara as Sawaki-san, Yu Nishizawa as Miike, and Keigo Moriura as Dony. Each actor brings a unique flair to their respective characters, promising an engaging narrative.
Trigger had previously teased the anime last week, building anticipation among fans. Amemiya, a former GAINAX animator, has an impressive track record, having worked on notable titles such as Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. After joining Trigger, he made his directorial debut with Inferno Cop and co-directed Kill la Kill. His directorial credits also include Ninja Slayer From Animation and Space Patrol Luluco, Trigger’s fifth-anniversary project. Additionally, he directed the Gridman Universe franchise and Trigger’s “Transformers 40th Anniversary Special Movie.”
